I AM CONFUSED AND MAD. so I was playing cod mw2 and got to the mission where ghost and soap are running from graves. I got to the bit where ghost says "what's my problem" and I like prepared myself for soaps bit, but then SILENCE. LIKE NOTHING. AND THEN IT JUST CUTS TO GHOST SAYING "SHOW MY FACE?" AND I WAS LIKE WHAT THE HELL? I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT PART AND THE GAME GLITCHED AND JUST CUT THE DIALOGUE OUT.

anyways, so I will now be replaying that mission with the hope that it does not do it again and I can hear soaps seggsy voice :)

this post was the catalyst for this comic, and i was also thinking of a desi song lyric (tere dil ke sheher mein ghar mera ho gaya / in the city of your heart, my home is made) and just... hmmm.... leaving your mark.... making a house into a home..... when the marks a child inevitably leaves behind (messes, scribbles, and in this case stickers) eventually fade away as they grow older and you're left with the memories stored in what hasn't been erased....

I don't know how strictly accurate this is, but one of the things I find shocking about watching historical dramas is how many people there are around all the time---according to Madame de... (1953) a well-off French household in the Belle Epoque maintains a workforce of at least 3, and the glittering opera has staff just to open doors. According to Shogun (2024) you can expect a deep bench just to mind your household, and again, people who exist to open doors.

Could people....not open doors in the past? Were doors tricky, before the standardization of hinges? Because otherwise, the wealthy used to pay a whole bunch of people to do it for them in multiple contexts, and I find myself baffled.

It’s important to go through the vetted fundraisers list regularly & see what families have little to no funds. This could be for any number of reasons, like language barriers or maybe not being familiar w Tumblr. Either way we shouldn’t expect families to know how to market themselves in order to platform.
